General Meeting: Simulating Galaxy Formation
Kerr Grant Theatre, University of Adelaide
Presented by Dr Robert Crain
Dr Crain from the Centre for Astrophysics & Supercomputing, Swinburne University of Technology will speak about his work with
large cosmological simulations of galaxy formation,
and in particular how he and his collaborators have
recently used them to resolve a long-standing problem
in galaxy formation; explaining why we don't see bright
X-ray gas around local disc galaxies, when nearly every
model for the past 20 years has suggested that we should.
Visitors welcome.
