Dark Sky AstroCamps

Each year the Society holds a number of AstroCamps for its members. These are held at dark sky locations in South Australia and need to be booked in advance.

Dark Sky AstroCamps are planned for the following dates in 2024:

Dark Sky Astro Camp Ettiquette

Astro camps provide the ultimate opportunity to experience truly dark skies, well away from any light pollution. As such, the rules are a little different to Public and Member Nights.

Please have a look at our Etiquette page to see what to expect when on camp.

The page is also available as a printable guide to at take along with you on camp: Dark Sky Astro Camp Etiquette Draft Ver20230330.pdf

COVID-19 Safe Plans for ASSA Dark Sky AstroCamps

COVID-Safe Plans have been developed by the ASSA for all its activities. ASSA members participating in ASSA Dark Sky AstroCamps at either Alpana Station or Bendleby Ranges need to comply with the COVID Safe Plan in place at the venue plus the telescope and equipment sharing safety requirement for Member Viewing Nights listed on the ASSA COVID Update webpage at assa.org.au/COVID.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping to keep members safe.
