The ASSA Library
The Astronomical Society of South Australia has compiled an extensive collection of Astronomy books, DVDs and magazines in its 100+ year history. In fact each year the Society funds the purchase of new books to add to its collection.
The ASSA Library maintains a presence in both Adelaide and Whyalla. The Adelaide library is located in a room adjacent to the Kerr Grant Lecture Theatre (old meeting venue) in the Physics Building at the University of Adelaide. The ASSA Library is open from 6 to 7:30pm on the nights of General Meetings. Members are welcome to browse through the books, DVDs, magazines, and newsletters on display and to borrow the books.
If you arrive at the eastern door of the Physics Building and it is locked, then please phone our librarian Susan Baker on 0415 655 378 and she will let you in. Note, you must provide your membership number if you wish to borrow a book.
The ASSA librarian, maintains lists of all the books sorted by author, title, and the Dewey Decimal Classification system.
