ASSA COVID Safety Requirements

Introduction

  • ASSA regularly reviews and updates its COVID-19 Safety Requirements for its in-person meetings and events.
  • Changes to COVID Safety Requirements can be made and implemented at short notice.
  • Current ASSA COVID Safety Requirements are available at: assa.org.au/covid

Applicable to all ASSA Events

  • Attendees must not attend if they are unwell or have COVID-19 symptoms. Specifically, you must not attend if:
    • have a confirmed case of COVID-19, or
    • have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting results, or
    • are required to isolate or quarantine by SA Health, or
    • are experiencing symptoms – a fever or chills, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, feeling fatigued or tired, loss of taste or smell, runny or blocked nose (with no alternative illness that explains these symptoms).
  • Attendees must abide by social distancing (1.5m apart) wherever possible and practise good hand hygiene.
  • ASSA requires attendees to disinfect their hands before touching any merchandise, literature or equipment.
  • NEW: ASSA highly recommends that attendees wear a face mask while indoors.
  • ASSA recommends attendees consider their personal health and circumstances first when deciding whether to participate in any events.

Applicable to Member, Public and Private Viewing Nights at ASSA Sites

  • Only disposable cups and spoons must be used for tea/coffee.
  • Use of BBQ facilities is permissible.
  • Members must sign the ASSA Attendance Register upon arrival.
  • Member Viewing Nights: Are strictly for members only. Members of the same family are NOT allowed entry unless they are also ASSA members. The only exception being one (1) non-member parent or guardian needs to attend in a guardian role with an underage ASSA member.
  • Public Viewing/Stargazing Nights: ASSA has resumed Public Viewing/Stargazing Nights in September 2022.
