Mary Emma Greayer Group
Mary Emma Greayer was one of the first female ASSA members in 1893 (1 year after the society was formed). She worked at the Adelaide Observatory as a Computer, cataloging stars and calibrating instruments.
ASSA has been welcoming to female members for over 100 years but female participation within the society is low. MEGG aims to change this by supporting the participation of female astronomers (particularly younger women) within the society. To help women build their astronomical knowledge, skills and confidence in an environment not dominated by men.
